When you select skin care products, you need to know some things about your own skin.
- Is your skin dry? (Sometimes skin is dry because it’s being unnecessarly stripped of natural oil by products too strong for your skin type.)
- Is it normal, not really too dry or too oily?
- Is it oily?
- Is it oily and prone to acne or breakouts?
- Is it a combination?
- Do you find it’s sensitive and you’ve found you can’t use some products?
- Do you have more severe problems such as eczema or rosacea, or something else?
Okay, the next step is to find a brand of products that has a generous and easy exchange/return policy so that if you aren’t getting the results you expect you don’t just stash the products in a drawer and give up. Also, look for a line of products where you can find knowledgeable, personal assistant with your selections, or at the very least, enough information that you can find what you need.
Next, purchase products in the same line. Products are developed to work together and you’ll get the most benefit and are less likely to have any adverse product interactions.
If you have sensitive skin, try one product at time in a spot behind your ear. If you don’t have any problems after a day or two, you should be safe to try it on your face. After trying each product by itself in a test spot, you may want to begin layering them one at a time in the same way.
