If you don’t like bulky makeup cases yet want to keep your makeup organized while on the go, you can opt for a makeup bag, most of which come in trendy styles. Some can even pass for a fashionable handbag. Cosmetic bags are more portable and convenient. If you want to carry just the basic beauty essentials while you’re on the go, then a makeup bag would be practical. If you use quality products, it will allow you to carry even less, because you’ll be able to put on your makeup and forget about it, only carrying a few touch-up items such as lipstick, blush, and a compact of pressed powder with a mirror. Since there are hundreds of bags to choose from in the market, it would be better to know the important things to consider in getting the right makeup bag for yourself.
When selecting a bag, make sure you get something that is large enough for what you want to carry. Overcrowding and stuffing a bag will just split seams and ruin zippers, and not look very classy as you pull it out of your bag.
Consider the functionality of a bag. If you have tiny items you want to carry, it may be helpful to have a bag that has other interior pockets to help your organize your products. It’s much easier to find small items if you have a place designated for them, instead of having them fall to the bottom of the bag. A zippered interior pocket is also useful.
Makeup bags made of nylon, vinyl, and some micro-fibers are great choices since they are not only sturdy, but because they can be easily cleaned by just wiping with a damp cloth. If you select a fabric bag, make sure it is of washable fabric, so that you can get the most mileage out of it; and be sure to utilize that feature and keep it clean!
Personally, I like to carry a customizable compact, as well as a small clear vinyl bag for the things I throw in my purse. These two items are small enough to transfer to almost any bag I carry, and I can see what I need and not rummage around looking. Most anything I need for touchups is actually in the compact, including lipstick, which is attractive if I need to pull it out. The other bag makes it handy to see my small tube of lip balm, travel size hand cream, along with the myriad of other “essentials” that could be needed at any moment, whether for kids or anyone else! Even though my bag is small, it includes a couple of bandaids, wet wipe packet, packet with a stain removal wipe, a little Swiss army knife (with tiny scissors), mints or gum, tiny sewing kit, tiny retractable tape measurer, and even more! I can’t tell you how many times there is something that has come in handy in that little bag, and I love being able to find things quickly!
What are your can’t live without items in your makeup bag?
